Holaaa…🤗
How was your week?
Mine was wonderful. Something exciting happened to me.☺
I was going for a walk in a park near home. And as I was walking, contemplating the beauty of nature, the view of the lake beside the park captured somehow my gaze.
And I started to wonder:” What kind of sea animals can we find in it, how many fishes….? Is there even any? It seems like a dead sea?”
That was the overthinker in me talking.
Thank God before I went far a new thought came in my mind.💡
GUESS WHAT?!
The famous story we’ve heard sooo many times of Peter meeting Jesus. But the way it came that day was very particular.
Let me just put in the context those who don’t know yet the story.
Peter and his friends were fishermen and they worked all night without catching anything.
In the language of this century we would say, they worked from shifts to shifts to meet both ends.
They had bills to pay, fees, they wanted to buy new houses, new cars, to finance their projects, to sustain their families,… the list could go on and on. I kinda see some people completing this list as they read 😅
See, the sea was unfruitful to them. They were desperate.
Their only source of income was dried up.
Meeeeen, they really needed these fishes.
And SUDDENLY,😍
Oh SUDDENLY (I love somehow this word)
they experienced a miracle.
According to their skills it was impossible to catch fishes in day time.
Secondly, to catch a big number of fishes in the same sea was practically impossible.
They tried meeen, they did all they could all night but nothing happened.
And then Peter threw the net according to the instructions he received from Jesus.
And all of a sudden, they caught more than what their boat could contain.
I can only imagine the joy in their faces,
It was totally insane!!
We have a God who does exceedingly and abundantly above what we can ask or even dare to think.
The part that I love the most is the greater miracle after the miracle
You may ask me :” What do you mean?”
Hiiih…. just stay with me as I continue with my story☺
When Jesus did this miracle all He wanted was to get the attention of Peter.
All He wanted was to reveal the love He has for him.
And Peter overwhelmed with such surreal grace, he could not understand why He chose a person like him.
And then the unconditional love of God comes in the equation.
And that is the greater miracle: “The heart of God behind the miracle!!!”
Every thing that God does, He does it to reveal his heart to you.
Yes it is wonderful to catch many fishes
but it is phenomenally, majestically and priceless to catch the Heart of God behind the catching of fishes.
When you understand these things,
You do no longer rely on provisions but you depend on the Provider.
JESUS was known for healing the sick but what stand out the most is his heart of compassion while healing the sick.
All his acts were moved by compassion.
Behind the miraculous hand,
There is a Heart of compassion calling you to draw near.
The other thing I love is that as you face the Heart of God,
The vision you have about yourself changes, it is upgraded.
And your mission becomes greater than just you.
As Peter from fishing to saving souls, healing the sicks, serving people,….
Cause if it was limited to fishing maybe he wouldn’t be known as he is today.
But because He fully grasped and whollystically embraced the greatest miracle,
His life was changed for the better.
How spectacular it is,
To see the greatest love colliding with the mightiest power.
Oh that’s the greatest miracle!!!
So don’t miss your miracle today!😉
I mean the greatest one especially!🥰
Have a good weekend !🤗
